For Stages Indoor Cycling bikes equipped with a Stages Power meter and/or a Bluetooth enabled console, it is possible to record your power data directly into the fitness app of your choice and sync to training websites, such as Strava or Training Peaks. We also have our own Stages Flight app which allows you to record your activities directly into Stages Flight alongside your group fitness class data.
- By pairing with a Bluetooth-enabled console, you may be able to connect directly to the console in order to record power, heart rate, and speed together within the app.Note: Not all apps will accept the console as a sensor. We recommend using the Stages Flight app when pairing directly to the console.
- By pairing directly to a power meter, you can log power and cadence data into any fitness app compatible with cycling power meters. Note that with this option, you will need to pair to your mobile device before activating the console in order to connect to the power meter over Bluetooth.
To record this, first you will need to install an app onto your compatible mobile device and pair to your sensors. Each phone and app may have different limitations, so for more help on which app to choose, please submit a ticket with information about your device.
Identifying your bike or console:
When many bikes are active, it may be difficult to choose which sensor to pair and record your data. For this, both consoles and power meters can have a unique id programmed in to make it easier.
- To identify which console to pair to, you may check the bike number. Any console with a bike number programmed will show up on your app's sensor list as Stages IC 1 (or applicable bike number).
Note: Not all apps will accept the console as a sensor. We recommend using the Stages Flight app when pairing directly to the console.
- To identify which power meter to pair to, check the sticker on the side of the pod on the left crank arm of the bike. The 4-5 digit ANT+ id will be used to identify the sensor on your app's sensor list.
Stages Flight App
The Stages Flight app can be paired to the console or directly to your sensors, such as the power meter on any Stages Indoor Cycling bike equipped with power and your heart rate monitor. From the home screen of the app, select "Tap to connect sensors" and make sure any sensors for your workout are activated by spinning the crank or wearing your heart rate monitor. From the list of sensors, the console should be shown based on bike number, such as Stages IC 5.
Use in trainer mode for indoor cycling classes. Gives the option to "spoof" location, as it does provide GPS data. App can connect to the power meter and an ANT+ heart rate strap.
Hit Menu > ANT+ Settings > ANT+ Devices > Power Sensor > Pair > Pick power meter based on ID # that matches the bike > Name Bike > Save. Repeat steps 1-3 and select Heart Rate Sensor to add a HR strap.
Tip: Select "Proximity" > Check Enable > Set and set it to a short distance to eliminate app from finding all power meters in the room
